REVIEW

Sherlock Holmes

Adopted from Sir Conan Doyle novels with the same title, this movie has a lot of significant changes from the novel version. One thing you can see clearly is Watson character. In the novel Watson is fat, while in the movie Watson is played by Jude Law, far from fat and actually he is thin.

The movie itself is added with many action like many others Hollywood-style action movies, such as suddenly Sherlock Holmes bruiser with martial techniques and knock out his enemy with his fist.

The movie pick mistery taken from criminal case that makes Sherlock Holmes curious and tried investigate the events behind the incident with the help of Watson, the intelligent doctors.

Directed by British-born film director Guy Ritchie, the film starring by Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law and practically the most Guy Ritchie's successful films in commercial with a total income of U.S. $389,576,937 around the world.

Actually this is not the first Sherlock Holmes novel was adapted into a film, but somehow this movie is different. No more super-elegant private detective, no longer buckskin jacket, and no more fat assistants just do by word of the employer. Entirely with the touch of Guy Ritchie new style, this movie is fresh and reasonable.

If you are fan of Sherlock Holmes novel, do not compare this movie with the novel since Sherlock Holmes and Watson characterization was very different. For me who never read the novel, this movie is very entertaining.

By presenting mystery in the beginning and then an explanation at the end of the film, This movie plot made sense in which the supernatural is result of human intelligence to manipulate other human beings.

Although generally not perfect because there are a couple of boring dialogue boring and the director failed to maintain the tension, I recommend you to spend your weekend by watch this movie. This movie also seemed to quench the thirst of a big fan of British detectives figure that after all this time did not adaptated into movie.Release date : 27 22 2009
