It seems that in this emancipation era, like now, there is nothing canot be done by women. As done by the Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock), a career woman who became leaders of a successful company. But one thing they forget is, Tate is not a United States citizen, and her visa in the country is almost expired.
Afraid of deportation, Tate find a solution, and the solution is marriage. Married with who? She tought about the Handsome and Gorgeous Andrew Paxton one of her staff. All performed by Tate merely that she is not deported to her home country, Canada. Is it true that all of this problem is based only by deportation?
This light romantic comedy movies apparently is the specialization of the female director, Anne Fletcher. Fletcher is newly directing three movies, but she is quite familiar with the film world. Started as a choreographer in many movies such as Ice Princess, Down With Love, and Catwoman, Fletcher then presume to do the dance film, Step Up (2006). The fact, Step Up is having good respond in the market and make Fletcher proceed directing 27 Dresses (2008) and finally, The Proposal.
Another thing that probably need to look at is the appearance of Scarlet Johanson husband, Ryan Reynolds who is more often appear in the last few months. In a few months, Reynolds appears in the Wolverine, Adventureland, and of course the proposal. Bullock are back on her specialization genre, after previously playing in the film, which is relatively serious or non-comedy such as Premonition (2007), Infamous (2006), and The Lake House (2006).
